OUR HISTORY

Since 2007 Maçonnerie Gratton has wanted to find solutions to improve the quality of life of its manual workers, alleviate the labor shortage and improve the environmental impact of the masonry industry in Quebec.

Tommy Bouillon, president of Maçonnerie Gratton and his partner David Dufour are working on education and sharing their expertise on construction sites.

BRICK RECYC was born from the desire to change and develop the main problem in the field of masonry, namely: The lack of a cost-effective method for cleaning brick in order to be able to reuse it directly on construction sites. This problem means that tens of thousands of tons of bricks, still in good condition, end up in landfills.

MAÇONNERIE GRATTON has chosen to take action by developing an innovative, simple and efficient machine that gives bricks a second life. The BRICK RECYC machine needed another genius to see the light of day! It was with the help of Hugo Cartier that Tommy Bouillon and David Dufour all worked together to invent the machine. Hugo Cartier's expertise in the field of robotization and automation was an essential asset for the development of this innovation.

The BRICK RECYC machine thus breathes new life into the field of deconstruction, a reference for the recycling of bricks, in the service of the environment and the circular economy.
